Rijksmuseum

Rijksmuseum is one of the greatest and most popular museums in Amsterdam.  Its vast collection showcases iconic art and a variety of artifacts depicting more than 800 years of Dutch and global history, as well as paintings by Rembrandt, Van Gogh, and many other Dutch greats.
The collection includes world-renowned works by Rembrandt ‘The Nightwatch’ (now in a beautifully illuminated hall where every little detail can be seen by visitors) and paintings by Johannes Vermeer and Florence Hulls.  In addition, the museum maintains a collection of Delftware, sculptures, Asian art, printing, and other important art objects.
The Ridge Museum collection goes back more than the Dutch masters.  The rich cultural history of the Netherlands is alive with ship models, sculptures, archaeological finds, clothing, weapons, prints, photographs and more.  Thousands of historical objects depict the history of this country in a world context, telling the story of 800 years in Amsterdam from the Middle Ages to the present.
In addition to the masterpieces of the Golden Age, there are Delft Blue dishes, sculptures, Asian art, and objects related to Dutch maritime history.  There are also modern additions, such as a Mondrian-inspired dress created in 1965 by Yves St. Laurent.
In addition to the paintings, drawings, and buildings, the museum also has a newly created park from 2013. Rijksmuseum is a great place to relax amidst beautiful surroundings.
