Chatsworth House

Chatsworth House, the Duchess of Devonshire’s House, is the royal residence in North Derbyshire, England. The house has served as the seat of the Cavendish family since Bess settled in the Hardwick area in 1549. Surrounded by wooden, rocky hills, the estate is full of priceless paintings, paintings, sculptures, and furniture, making it the largest and most beautiful place in the world. It has been voted the UK’s Favorite Home several times.

The estate is home to some of the most beautiful and spacious gardens, and visitors often visit the grounds without even thinking twice about entering the massive house. Covering about 105 acres, the gardens alone are surrounded by a wall about two miles long. It attracts around 300,000 visitors every year. The walls are huge, but the garden looks bigger than they are. Over the course of more than six centuries, they have been set up in such a way as to blend in with the surrounding park, covering about 1,000 acres. The Chatsworth home staff includes 20 full-time backyards.

In addition to the formal parks, the Chatsworth House grounds have stables that housed about 80 horses. (Today it is used for food and drink events, and there are also houses for several plantation workers.) There is also a large hunting tower. The land area of the estate is very large. Its size is 35,000 acres. They run about 450 houses and are inhabited by tenants and others.

Chatsworth House and surrounding estates were used for several scenes filmed for the 2006 edition of Pride and Prejudice, starring Kyra Knightley and Matthew McFadden.
